Is college confidential a bad site to go to for college admissions advice?

I think it can be helpful. However, like ANY advice site (Yahoo answers, Princeton Review, Collegeboard, etc.), you NEED to take the answers with a grain of salt. Some people aren't that informed; others may be biased. Read the answers but don't take all of them at face value. Keep in mind, though, that some people ARE informed--I have been on there many times and the answers are absolutely correct much of the time.
