The pill and pregnancy?

Hi after about 4months from a break from the pill i started it again about 12 days ago i started it the 1st day i was bleeding.me and bf had on the 6th day and he done it right in me.i am protected ain't i? as it says on the leaflet if you start on the 1st day of ur bleeding means you have protection.my period was stopped but now i have light pink/brown discharge but could the pill cause this/as wen i was pregnant be4 *bt lost it cos 2soon cos the pill* i had this which was spotting.THX for any help.am 20x
